Howdy fellow human!
This week’s notes:
1.
I have been collecting National Geographic magazines on and off since I was a teenager. They have remained pretty much untouched since their first reading in a pile on my bookshelf until the other week when I decided to use them for my new interest in collage. Here are the first few collages I made this week!

2.
Find a song that makes you want to close your eyes, move your body, and sing along. My pick this week:
“We’re good people, and we deserve peace”
3.
“Just telling the truth about the dopamine cartel would be a major step forward for the culture in 2024.” - Ted Gioia
4.
One of the channels I will miss during my detox from YouTube is SBSK. Their mission? “Normalising the diversity of the human condition.” Two interviews I watched recently that particularly touched me were Jasmine, a mother of two autistic children who discovered her own diagnosis at 32 years old and Kassondra, an autistic woman who was misdiagnosed as a child and wrongfully medicated for a decade.
5.
I’ve already mentioned my new obsession with collage. Well, I’ve found a fantastic magazine that has plunged me into research mode. I love being able to read about an interest off of the internet in a physical magazine and although this is only the first printed issue that the Contemporary Collage Magazine has published I can see myself reaching for future editions.

6.
When we visited Florence a few weeks ago there was a morning on which I opted to get a coffee and sit outside on a bench at the side of the street to draw. I had been at the Uffizi gallery with Andrew but it became very crowded and overwhelming so I excused myself. I’m so glad I did, because this turned out to be such a regulating activity for me despite being in a busy foreign city. I love that I can take my sketchbook anywhere with me, and it’s always a place I can retreat to.

Hi Charlie, I’m back again 😬 My song would be You’re the first, the last, my everything by Barry White, the complete version with all the talking in the beginning and I always imagine Biscuit from Ally McBeal 😁 I start stimming the moment the song begins and it’s so uplifting ❤️❤️❤️
I love the collages. I find arts and crafts so relaxing and the best way to turn my mind off and enter hyperfocus and process overwhelming feelings.
